Shakira Welcomes Baby, Soccer Player Boyfriend Claims on Twitter

Shakira and Gerard Piqué have welcomed their first child, the soccer player claimed on Twitter and Facebook Thursday night.

“Ya ha nacido nuestro hijo! Estamos muy felices! Gracias a todos por vuestros mensajes!” he wrote in Spanish, which translates to “Our son is born! We are very happy! Thank you all for your messages!”

It’s worth noting that December 28 is the Latin American equivalent of April Fool’s Day, and it’s not clear whether Piqué was playing a prank.

Gossip Cop has reached out to reps for the singer for official confirmation, but have yet to hear back.

Shakira confirmed she was pregnant in September, and later shared revealing images of her baby bump andsonogram.
