Kate Winslet with CBE Award |
Kate Winslet was handed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) medal by Queen Elizabeth II on November 21st in honor of her services to drama. The Oscar-winning actress attended a ceremony at London royal residence Buckingham Palace to receive the accolade. She says, "The sense of gravity is enormous and you very much feel you are being acknowledged by the whole country in a way. There is something incomparably overwhelming about that." The Queen asked Winslet how much she enjoys acting, and the star recalls, "I said yes I liked it but not as much as being a mother. She said, 'It is the best job'."
